To celebrate Burwood Municipality turning 150 in 2024, Burwood Council commissioned artists Kubi Vasak, Simon Welsh and Millie Bartlett from the Sydney Collage Society (SCS) to develop three artworks for our Burwood Banners program. The artworks were developed from 800 supplied Council images of the Burwood community and area from our 150-year history. The image bank supplied to SCS comprised of archival photos from Council's local history collection and contemporary photos from previous Council events, festivals, parades and celebrations. Reflecting Burwood's past, present and future these artworks are designed to elicit a sense of fun and excitement for the 2024 celebrations. Along with the banner program the artworks will be used throughout the majority of promotional materials for the 150-year celebrations in 2024.
INSTALLATIONS
The Sydney Collage Society also specialise in installations and commissions for various events including exhibitions, public spaces, corporate environments and private clients. Members of the SCS are trained and qualified graphic designers with over 15 years of experience working with large-scale installations and print projects. Our work involves combining elements of art, design, technology, and spatial arrangement to craft visually striking and conceptually rich installations.
