Leah Ann Early
American-born and now based on the South Coast of Australia, Leah Ann Early is a contemporary abstract artist practicing in both fine art and commercial collage. A founding member of the Sydney Collage Society, Leah believes collage is a powerful visual communicator that directly pushes the boundaries between fine art, storytelling and craft. Collage is where the line of found and made is blurred, for the better, inseparable yet sometimes unrecognisable.
Throughout Leah’s current practice, she uses a mixture of vintage and modern publications to source materials, renewing the ephemera to create colour fields that modulate through shape and tone, utilising textures and imprinting layers to lift depth and history from the pigmentation itself.
