The Other Art Fair Sydney

We are excited to be part of The Other Art Fair Sydney this year, where we'll be showcasing new collage artwork and hosting a series of collage workshops.

The Sydney Collage Society will be running four unique collage workshops throughout the Fair, each led by a different artist. This means you’ll experience a range of creative perspectives and approaches to analogue collage.

Workshops will be hosted by Kubi Vasak (Founder & Director of SCS) and facilitated by artists and Society members Liz Peniazeva, Millie Bartlett, Simon Welsh, and Sue Morais.

We’re offering our subscribers a 20% discount to tickets for the fair. Just use the code SCSYD20 at checkout.

Below are all the details to help you plan.

Workshop Dates:

  • Figurative Collage with Simon Welsh
    Thursday 8 May – 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Work with human forms, portraits, and representations of the figure. Simon will guide you through layering paper and textures to create dynamic, expressive pieces.

  • Surrealist Collage with Sue Morais
    Friday 9 May – 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Tap into the subconscious with Surrealist collage. Sue will lead you in using unexpected juxtapositions and dreamlike compositions to create artwork that challenges the boundaries of reality.

  • Abstract Collage with Millie Bartlett
    Saturday 10 May – 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Let go of representation and focus on colour, texture, and shape to communicate emotion and concept in your collages, with an emphasis on pure form and creative expression.

  • La Femme Collage with Liz Peniazeva
    Sunday 11 May – 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Explore a feminine perspective through collage. Liz will guide you in combining photographic elements to create intricate compositions that reflect themes of womanhood, identity, and empowerment. This workshop challenges traditional visual storytelling, offering a unique approach to analogue collage.
