Stephen Ormandy Joins the Sydney Collage Society

We’re excited to share the news that Australian artist Stephen Ormandy has joined the Sydney Collage Society in 2026.

Stephen is an Australian artist and designer whose practice is grounded in the language of collage—assembling, layering, and reconfiguring shape, colour, and form to create rhythm and visual tension. Working intuitively from the subconscious, his compositions explore the balance of positive and negative space, often hovering between abstraction and figuration. Across painting, analogue collage, and sculpture, Ormandy treats form as something built and activated, pushing collage beyond the page into an expanded contemporary practice. With decades of international recognition, including exhibitions in New York, London, Milan, Sydney, and Seoul, his work is held in major public collections such as the National Gallery of Victoria, the Powerhouse Museum, Artbank, and the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
