Trea Marshall is a New Zealand artist residing in Sydney's inner west. Her work is playful, experimental and within the realm of painting, collage and printmaking. Evoking dreamlike and cosmic illusions. She disrupts the content of an image through mark-making and layering paint. Exploring deconstruction, imagined utopias and decolonisation.
Her compositions can often feel confetti-like with bursts of colour floating across expansive landscapes and vintage interiors. Lately, Trea has been working on collaborations, with a particular interest in film photography of landscapes and significant sites, echoing her rural upbringing.
