Artist work space

1) Location?  Valencia, Spain 🇪🇸

2) Years collaging? 11 years.

3) What do you love and hate about collage? I love everything which to create implies. To make new images from existing ones is amazing and I think it's a beautiful way to show our emotions and feelings. I don’t hate anything about collage.

4) Biggest influences?  My biggest influences are music, literature & cinema. Music like Harold Budd, Stars of the Lid, Pausal. Ambient & drone music is the best thing to inspire me when creating. In literature I love Thomas Mann, Laszlo Krasznahorkai, Marguerite Duras, Clara Janés, Marina Tsvietaieva, Chantal Maillard... And in cinema: Andrei Tarkovsky, Tony Richardson, Chantal Akerman, Koreeda, Ingmar Bergman...

5) Analog Vs Digital? I think each piece is unique and it doesn't matter if it is digital or analog. Each provide a different way to create, at least in my experience. I cant choose one.

6) How do you spend your downtime? Reading, watching movies, going to museums, going out to book shops and thinking. I'm always thinking.

7) Three tips for someone starting out in collage?

To experiment in the moment.
Let oneself go.
Don’t imitate other collagist.

8) Up and coming shows or projects we should know about? I prefer not to talk about my next projects ––I've became a little superstitious & I don’t have any upcoming exhibitions at the moment. Currently I'm into photography and working more with words than images.
